Mick
is a genuine Australian Master Craftsman. He has developed a spectacular
stage show cracking his whips under strobe and laser lights to brilliant
effect, and performs with blazing fire whips.
In January 1999 the acting Prime Minister, The Right Honourable
Tim Fischer launched Mick's latest product, an educational video
on whip cracking entitled How to Crack a Stock Whip, much
to the delight of the large crowd gathered in the main street of
Tamworth. The video is a world first, demonstrating the many different
tricks and techniques developed and refined by Mick.
Mick's whips have been presented to:
- Bill Gates of Microsoft, by the Deputy Prime
Minister of Australia The Right Honourable Tim Fischer, at a full
sitting of Federal Parliament in Melbourne at Victoria's Parliament
House.
- A Northern Territory Cattle King was
presented to his Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh by the Royal
Darwin Show Society at a function in Darwin Northern Territory.
- 25 finely crafted specially boxed and mounted
stock whips were presented to Senior American business leaders
as corporate gifts by a major Australian company.
- Presidents of three South American countries
by a visiting Australian statesman.
- Mr Mike Willasee by the Darwin Press Club.
- The Honourable Helen Coonan MP on her appointment
as Government Whip in the Senate.
- Mr
Derryn Hinch by the Darwin Press Club.
Mick's 1998 Highlights
- Custom made crocodile skin guitar strap was
presented to Mr Bob Dylan by Alan James the manager of Yothu Yindi
after Mr Dylan performed in Darwin.
- 10 days Performing at the Tamworth Country
Music Festival
- Invited to perform at the launch of the Australian
Trade Department of Trade Internet Site by the Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister for Trade, the Honourable Tim Fischer MP, in Canberra.
- Invited to perform at the lunch interval on
the first day of the Australian Constitutional Convention by the
Chairperson, the Honourable Ian Sinclair MP.
- Custom made set of collar and lead were made
for "Freddy", pedigree Ymerana, owned by the Australian
Minister for Justice the Honourable Amanda Vanstone.
- 10 days of performances at the Moomba Festival
in Melbourne.
- Finalist in the Telstra "Northern Territory
Entrepreneur of the Year" Awards.
- Winner
of a 1998 Export Award for Outstanding Export Achievement by an
Innovative Manufacturer. Mick elected President of the
Northern Territory Whip Crackers Association Inc.
